Today the Liverpool League of Gentlemen and Extraordinary Ladies mounted an expedition around the Liverpool Discovery Trail.
The crew consisted of Hildebrand Staggers, Colonel VC Squatter, Captain Icarus Clore, Jingle Joe, Major Cretaceous Bung, Brigadier Brox Baslow, Débutante Cassy, Jingle Joe and myself.
Starting at Stephenson’s Destinator at Lime Street Station we plotted agreat circle around the city, towards Heaven and Earth by the waterfront. We then pressed northeasterly, through the musical lamp posts towards the the X-Ray Ted Golf Bug and then an uphill push through to the sonic mirrors at the Anglican Cathedral and then into the haunted graveyard before dusk and ale at the Philharmonic Pub and tea and cakes at Mello Mello.
The Major turned out to be a fountain of knowledge about Liverpool’s Sonic Heritage and introduced us to the reverberating amphitheatre on Liverpool One and sonic channels in the Anglican Cathedral, as well as a few ghost stories in the graveyard.
UPDATE:
Here’s a truly marvellous picture of us and Stephenson’s Destinator from Tommy Patterson. Who has renamed us GROOVE…
