Memoirs of a Hermaphrodite

Vikki and I went to the Unity Theatre to see Memoirs of a Hermaphrodite.

This is a moving and humorous story of Herculine Barbin, an individual born between genders in 19th century Paris.

All parts were energetically and poignantly played by Sarah Leaver, who was truly convincing in portraying all genders.

It is horrific how Herculine was treated, but how much are things really better today?
There was nothing wrong with Herculine, but something terribly wrong with the people who treated Herculine the way they did.
