The Third Weekend at the Asylum has grown again! Over 1000 Steampunks rendezvoused in Lincoln from all over the world.
We got to meet and chat to friends old and new. I even got to meet and chat to The Great Contraptionesness himself Wilf Lunn!
Icarus gave a talk about the Bone Wars, a true story about dinosaur fossil hunting rivals. There was a Wacky Racers Race, Gentleman’s duelling, and Tea duelling! Of course there was also the Third Empire Ball and Costume Competition. We also made an attempt at the World Record for number of steampunks gathered together in one place. I am still waiting to hear news on our success though.
Yet another magnificent weekend at the Asylum. Tickets are already on sale for next year! The festival will still be in Lincoln, however due to “The Asylum” itself being sold to raise money for the council we will be using alternative locations.
