On Saturday George and I and 399,998 friends decided to march for the alternative to the harmful cuts the government are making.
The alternative is to invest in public services, renewable energy and tax compliance. According to a large number of experienced econimists these actions will invigorate the economy, increase the tax take and make the cuts uneccessary. Much like when public investment in the creation of the NHS invigorated and restored a struggling post war British economy.
The march route was heaving and by the time we caught up with a large PCS group we realised we then had to press on through the march to get to Trafalgar Square in to take up our invite to sing with the Liverpool Socialist Singers. Which was a lot of fun!
We met loads of people we know! The march was peaceful and good natured. We didn’t see any of the trouble that made the headlines.
