Tonight I went to METAL to listen to a talk about the 1911 Transport Strike.
I barely knew anything about the strike beforehand so this was a real eye opener.
This is the story of a great people’s victory over the state to improve the conditions in which transport workers were living with daily. They stuck together against military threat and police aggression. And they still won.
This is a great example of solidarity and community winning despite a desperate situation.
